About OpenLearn

Learning made relevant, and brought alive.

OpenLearn's innovative education system empowers students to explore their natural creativity and discover their true passion through future-ready teaching and learning techniques.

Founder & lead facilitator

Rachna

Rachna has spent her career teaching English to students who arrived believing they were bad at it, and leaving able to argue, write and present with confidence.

She founded OpenLearn to teach the way she always believed it should be done — small groups, real feedback, and a classroom where a child is safe enough to try.

We offer a competency-based curriculum where learning is made relevant and brought alive by connecting subject knowledge with real-life phenomena and future skills.

Our approach

A different idea of what a class can be.

  • Innovative teaching

Modules are child-centred, and learners take ownership of their learning. Our pedagogy encourages curiosity, creativity and engagement, connecting subject knowledge to real-life phenomena.

  • Core skills

We redefine education by building life skills into every class. Critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, collaboration and communication are all strengthened alongside the syllabus.

  • Conducive environment

We aspire to elicit a student's love for learning and self-development. The right environment creates a landscape for thinking, observing, evaluating and generating new ideas.

  • Progressive educators

Our facilitators encourage student voice and choice, metacognition, real-life connections and experiential learning — and do their utmost to nurture every child's latent capability.

In their words

What students and parents say.

  • I scored 40/40 in my first term board exam.

When I joined OpenLearn in class 9, I was struggling with my scores in the school assessments. My aggregate percentage was plummeting due to my low marks in English. I had almost given up. Things started improving drastically since I joined Rachna ma'am's class. Her hand-holding gives me confidence to try my best. Slowly but steadily my marks improved. I am happy to share that I scored 40/40 in my first term board exam.

  • I am filled with pride when I hear my daughters conversing in English at home.

We belong to a non-English-speaking family, but I always wanted my children to speak well and write fluently. Initially my daughters were reluctant to attend the classes. However, the fun activities, games, role plays and storytelling sessions generated immense interest in them. I am thankful to OpenLearn as I am filled with pride when I hear my daughters conversing in English at home.

  • I won an interschool debate competition.

My objective of joining OpenLearn was to enhance my speaking skills and communication, as I was very hesitant to speak in public. OpenLearn gives me excellent opportunities to hone my speaking skills. Public speaking sessions are very interesting. Within months I could communicate and interact with panache. I also won an interschool debate competition in the 2021 session.
